Navigability of the Jizera River and water levels

The Jizera River rises in the mountains and its flow depends on the amount of precipitation in the Jizera Mountains, the Krkonoše Mountains, the area around Železný Brod and Semily. The most frequented tourist section between Malá Skála and Dolánky is passable most of the year and only very rarely (during extremely low water levels in summer) are some sections impassable. However, these are only short sections that can be easily forded.

Detailed information about the water level in the river can be found on ČHMÚ.
